Technology

Well, google decided to update its sites and for a while I have been unable to access my blog.  This time I didn't have my daughter help, although she probably would have figured it out.  I actually used my web master.  It was so simple even though what he told me and supposedly what google told me were the same thing.  His explanation was just in plain English.  Technology can be great, but between our connection to our billing being interuppted daily, our credit card site being unaccessible, etc... sometimes I really hesistate with going forward.

These last two months, I have had to deal with my insurance claims being rejected due to their computer cliches.  I have tried to wait patiently to be re-imbursed for care for my patients.  It got a little concerning at one point when my working cash flow was down.  I needed to still pay bills.  With this economy, it has been concerning for all, and to add technology issues to the stress, it doesn't help.

Yes, I would like to have electronic health records, but with these last issues, it makes it concerning.  Finally, the cost is way beyond the scope of this practice.  Maybe in time, but not at this time.  I will stick to my paper charts and limited use at this time for vaccine registries, cell phone, e-mail, websites, etc...

Someday.....but will it be like science fiction and the computers will see us as the "cliches" in life.
